The meaning of Drifting fishing is drift boat fishing but it can also be practiced from anchored.

this fishing has the only objective of catching a beautiful specimen of Bluefin Tuna, but wrapped around it can undermine other preys such as Swordfish or other species of Tuna.

We fish Drifting in a sporting way or CATCH & RELEASE which consists in catching the tuna and releasing it

For our Drifting fishing trips we travel approximately 12/15 miles of navigation from the coast.

The departure is at 13.30 until sunset.

We practice this technique anchored but we release it from the anchor only in case of STRIKE.

During our normal or training training outings we use 4 Sunrise 50Lb rods and the ATLANTICROD with Sunrise AVET reels, while during Federal competitions we always use the same company as the rod but the 30Lb because with a thinner thread you have more score on the fish .

Drifting fishing consists of creating a pasture trail: where in this wake we drop 4 rods at 4 different depths not on the bottom and not even in the meters surrounding the bottom thanks to the help of a sinker chosen based on the current we have that day and 4 different distances from our boat for example: the deepest rod will be the most distant from our boat thanks to the help of balloons attached to the mother line obviously biodegradable that act as floats.

as pasture we use the famous frozen sardines, we feed at the bow of the boat and throw the sardine into the sea cut into 3 pieces when our sardine passes the stern of our boat we immediately throw another so as not to create too abundant groundbait: while for baiting the hook we use the most beautiful and thick sardines that we can find in our frames and we attach them with an elastic thread to the hook which acts as protection so in case of strong current the sardine remains intact.

In case of departure we immediately release from the anchor and we recover the lowered rods and with the boat we go to chase the fish in order to always keep it under us.

The detention bluefin tuna fishing is allowed from June 16 to October 14 while in the case of catch with release it is allowed all year with the common sizes of tannins are between 50-150 kg and there are minimum measures to allow for the holding in allowed period ranging from 30 kilograms or 115 centimeters.

to fish for bluefin tuna it is necessary to have an authorization, free and valid for three years, granted by the harbor master's office , however the license is granted only to the boat and is valid for all the fishermen inside, even in the absence of the owner of the boat.

in practice, only fishermen equipped with a means of support can fish for tuna, however those who dive or practice shore fishing are not entitled.
